The University of Michigan will hold its first invitational tournament on Saturday, February 17th, 2018 on the Central Campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As we prepare for this tournament, teams can expect the following:
All 23 division C national events will be run, and all tests will be written at a challenging level to help prepare students for future competitions. Unfortunately, we will only be running division C events for our first year; in the future please expect our competition to expand to division B as well! Teams from all states are welcome to join us this year. On competition day, teams will be provided a homeroom, and the invitational will conclude with an awards ceremony. Tests and answer keys will be provided after the competition.
We understand that competition day can be stressful for both coaches and competitors. As a result, coaches will not be asked to provide materials or proctor events. We will take care of running events and writing tests so that you can relax and focus on your students! Additionally, we will be running events as closely as possible to the National schedule so you and your team can focus on studying and ace your events.
The Michigan Experience
The University of Michigan is located in the center of Ann Arbor, and is a hub for science and engineering research as well as academic excellence. Come see the vibrant atmosphere of our Central Campus and see why we are ranked as the number one public university in the US! We welcome competitors to explore our campus, departments, and organizations.
While the University of Michigan is only holding its first invitational tournament, the UMSO board consists of accomplished Science Olympiad alumni. From National medalists to expert test writers, we hold over a decade of combined experience. We are dedicated to delivering a high-caliber and exceptional competition this coming winter.
